Devastating & MysteriousThis is the first book I haven’t been able to put down in a while, it is definitely going on my faves list。 And maybe I’m a little weird, but I both love and hate it when characters are so brutally cut down to the quick they feel like they’ll never recover。 This book has that, and it is so so bittersweet and lovely。 The entire story itself is great, it flows beautifully and makes sense, and I am absolutely salivating to find out what is going to happen in the next book (o Devastating & MysteriousThis is the first book I haven’t been able to put down in a while, it is definitely going on my faves list。 And maybe I’m a little weird, but I both love and hate it when characters are so brutally cut down to the quick they feel like they’ll never recover。 This book has that, and it is so so bittersweet and lovely。 The entire story itself is great, it flows beautifully and makes sense, and I am absolutely salivating to find out what is going to happen in the next book (or 2, bc I doubt this story will finish off in only 1 more book。) Definitely worth the read and/or purchase! 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I am honestly hoping that Griffin is still alive somewhere。 I will be really sad if it’s not true。 Ironic that it took Riva basically dying for them all to realize she wasn’t lying and wanted to help them the whole time。 After hearing about the video I get it a little, but they should have known better。 At first I thought maybe Ursula was actually going to help, but now she was trying to kill them。 There is so much they don’t know。 Her new power is kinda terrifying but awesome。 It’s not good tha I am honestly hoping that Griffin is still alive somewhere。 I will be really sad if it’s not true。 Ironic that it took Riva basically dying for them all to realize she wasn’t lying and wanted to help them the whole time。 After hearing about the video I get it a little, but they should have known better。 At first I thought maybe Ursula was actually going to help, but now she was trying to kill them。 There is so much they don’t know。 Her new power is kinda terrifying but awesome。 It’s not good that she seems to like it while she using it and not control it。 I’m dying to know the guys reactions to the aftermath of her power。 。。。more

Thus begins another series with shadowkind/human mixes that stars a plucky girl who finally gets her chance to rescue her friends and ends up in a mess。 A great story full of dark themes and definitely an friends to enemies to friends hopefully again story。 Lots of action, darkness, hot guys, a great heroine and lots of trouble。 Interesting characters that must grow as the story goes。 Had to see what would happen next and would Riva regain her boys back。

The X-Men meets Corrupt by Penelope Douglas 🖤🔥 I binged this book last night。 It's THAT addictive。A group of 6 powerful beings, Riva and 5 guys, are held captive by a secret and mysterious organization who conducts tests and intense training on them。 The 6 of them form a strong unbreakable bound that ties them together。 That is。。 until Riva breaks that bound。After a failed scape attempt, one ends up dead and the rest are separated from her for 4 years。 As she is sold to a fighting ring she wishe The X-Men meets Corrupt by Penelope Douglas 🖤🔥 I binged this book last night。 It's THAT addictive。A group of 6 powerful beings, Riva and 5 guys, are held captive by a secret and mysterious organization who conducts tests and intense training on them。 The 6 of them form a strong unbreakable bound that ties them together。 That is。。 until Riva breaks that bound。After a failed scape attempt, one ends up dead and the rest are separated from her for 4 years。 As she is sold to a fighting ring she wishes nothing but to get back to her boys and rescue them。 Problem is, when she finally gets the opportunity, they do not welcome her with open arms。 They are no longer the boys she once knew。。。That's when I started to get Corrupt vibes! Her men blame Riva for what happened 4 years ago。 However they won't let her go。。 she's hers to do with as they please, to payback for the pain that she caused。。。🔥 The romance is a slow burn reverse harem full of chemistry, my favorite of the boys was Drey ofc!Now these men are no ordinary men, Eva Chase gives us a dash of Chosen by Villains 。。。 These monsters just might break Riva for good and doom them all。 。。。more

Book one of a series that has a great start with plenty of action and sadness。 All of the main characters had a great introduction into their personalities and the situation they were in。 With two things on everyones mind, to escape and freedom, that is the theme throughout the book。 Of course they do make an escape but not on the timeline they are hoping for and after the escape things are not really going as planed。 They need to find out who and what they are and why they are what they are, th Book one of a series that has a great start with plenty of action and sadness。 All of the main characters had a great introduction into their personalities and the situation they were in。 With two things on everyones mind, to escape and freedom, that is the theme throughout the book。 Of course they do make an escape but not on the timeline they are hoping for and after the escape things are not really going as planed。 They need to find out who and what they are and why they are what they are, this is what drives them on。 Trust and betrayal are big issues and must be resolved。 I love all the characters and the plot is good with twists。 A great job of getting into the characters heads to get a real feel of what is going on with each one of them。 This ended in a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next book。 I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed。 。。。more

Eva Chase has done it again! I predict the Shadowblood Souls series to be another of her hits。 I devoured this first book in the series, Shattered Vow, in less than a day。 It had so many of my favorite romance tropes, and Eva Chance does them so well。What I loved most was the friends-to-enemies-to-lovers component。 They are a group of best friends who, through a fatal event and lies, have been separated for years。 When they rejoin, the bonds of friendship cannot survive the hurt, and the boys tu Eva Chase has done it again! What a great start to this awesome new series。 This book grabbed my interest from the very first page and I found it hard to put it down。 There is a great deal of angst between the main characters, which is sometimes hard to accept。 Lies abound and Riva must work hard to prove to the others that they are untrue and that she wants to help them。 Hopefully the next book will allow this group to find some answers and allow them to salvage their friendships。 Great Book!I received an ARC copy of this What a great start to this awesome new series。 This book grabbed my interest from the very first page and I found it hard to put it down。 There is a great deal of angst between the main characters, which is sometimes hard to accept。 Lies abound and Riva must work hard to prove to the others that they are untrue and that she wants to help them。 Hopefully the next book will allow this group to find some answers and allow them to salvage their friendships。 Great Book!I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review。 。。。more

4。5 stars。。。Ohhh damn, this book is heart wrenching in a semi good way。 The FMC is part of a family and was taken away from them when an escape went wrong。 But the MMC*s were fed a bullshit story and belive that she turned on them。 The FMC takes her first chance to help the MMC*s break out and they hate her instantly and start treating her like shit。 Definitely a bully romance。。 but the ending is good and I want to know more!!

Shattered Vow is the start of a new, monstrous series, and I am here for it。 This book is a great start to it, really introducing us to the scene and the characters, and I’m enjoying the concept。 Riva and the guys know they’re different, “freaks,” that they were basically bioengineered。 Constantly tested to feel out their abilities。 They try to hide emerging ones, but sometimes that doesn’t work。 One night, everything goes awry, one dies, Riva is taken away, and the rest of the guys recaptured。 Shattered Vow is the start of a new, monstrous series, and I am here for it。 This book is a great start to it, really introducing us to the scene and the characters, and I’m enjoying the concept。 Riva and the guys know they’re different, “freaks,” that they were basically bioengineered。 Constantly tested to feel out their abilities。 They try to hide emerging ones, but sometimes that doesn’t work。 One night, everything goes awry, one dies, Riva is taken away, and the rest of the guys recaptured。 That changes the course of their lives in ways none of them expect。 It takes several years for her to find her opening to escape and find the guys and get them free as well, but of course it’s not a warm welcoming。 That’s really the one thing I didn’t like about this book。 No matter how many times she shows the guys that she’s on their side, they treat her terribly, especially Jacob, who can’t seem to stop thinking she’s no better than the scum on the bottom of his shoe, just waiting for the time he can get rid of her。 It just goes to show the strength of her character when she just rolls with the emotional punches during the entire time they’re searching for answers。This does end on a slight cliffhanger, and I liked the bonus POV chapter from Jacob at the end。 。。。more
